Who: Master and PhD students, academic and practice-based researchers, public space lovers and enthusiasts (from different disciplines), early career (under 30) and senior professionals, community leaders.
How many: up to 20 participants fully involved (they will receive a certification of completion after completing the workshop – participation in all activities including the presentation of the final outcomes).

UrbanistAI is an interactive tool which aims at democratizing the urban design process and implements advanced AI technology with a human-centered approach. UrbanistAI helps in innovating urban governance practices through participatory design. The audience od UrbanisAI includes citizens and active civil servants looking for a new way to make urban design a more equitable, democratic and enjoyable process.

“Architects have a unique opportunity to put forward ambitious and creative ideas that help us imagine a more equitable and optimistic future in common”. Lesley Lokko is the founder of the African Futures Institute, established in Accra, Ghana, in 2020 as a postgrad school of architecture and public events platform. In 2015 she founded the Graduate School of Architecture in Johannesburg. She has taught in the UK, in the US, Europe, Australia and Africa. She is the recipient of a number of awards for contributions to architectural education.

Time Space Existence features completed and ongoing projects, innovative proposals, and utopian dreams of architectural expressions. Through a wide selection of projects ranging from conceptual works, models and photographs to videos, sculptures and site-specific installations, participants question our relationship with space and time, re-envisioning new ways of living and rethinking architecture through a larger lens.

EXHIBITION
During the workshop Museo Spazio Pubblico will host the exhibition of the 2022 edition of the European Prize for Urban Public Space promoted by CCCB (Centre for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona). Feel free to stop by if you’re in Bologna, the exhibition is open to the public and free of charge!

FEES
The participation fee includes:
- membership to City Space Architecture valid until 31 December 2023,
- trip to Milan: visit to Arup office and several public space transformation,
- trip to Venice: visit to the 18th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice Biennale, curated by Leslie Lokko
- social events and workshop activities and materials,
- use of the spaces and facilities (Museo Spazio Pubblico and others),
- certificate of completion of the workshop.
Please note that fees do NOT include meals during the workshop and during the trips in Milan and Venice. We can’t cover costs of traveling to and accommodation in Bologna. All participants must find their accommodation in Bologna for the period of the workshop.
The cost of the workshop is different according to age and occupation. We made this decision in order to allow diverse categories to participate and for us to cover all the costs associated to different activities.

We offer several participation options for those not able to join for the full period of the workshop. You can take part in:
- Public seminar “Public space challenges, from theory to practice to policies” on 4th September in Bologna – open to the public and free of charge;
- 1-day trip to Milan on 5th September to visit ARUP and explore the city’s suburban public spaces guided by local professionals: € 100;
- 2-day trip to Venice on 7th-8th September, to explore the 18th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice Biennale, curated by Leslie Lokko, and other cultural events as well as to meet with renown urban professionals: € 200.
The fee both for the 1-day trip to Milan and for the 2-day trip to Venice includes also the membership fee (affiliation to City Space Architecture) valid until 31 December 2023.
PAYMENT
Early bird discounts are valid from 15th June until the 15th of July.
Full rates apply from 16ht July to 1st August EXTENDED to 8th August.

REFUND
City Space Architecture can refund 100% of the fee ONLY if the request is submitted no later that 1st August. From 2nd August we can refund 50% of the fee if the request is submitted no later that 31st August.
